Bree is one of those sweet nomadic souls who spends most of her time barefoot, usually beachside with either a surfboard or paintbrushes in hand. Not one to follow rules, nor be based in one place for too long, you can often find Bree Island hopping in Indonesia or zooming through the Sri Lankan jungle on her moped.
Tell us a little more about you. Where are you based and what do you do?
I actually don’t have much of a base. I have been travelling for years now go wherever opportunities present themselves. I am currently a surf instructor at Sunshinestories retreat in Sri Lanka, but at the same time trying to develop my artwork.
Can you describe a typical day?
I'll usually start my day painting or surfing, followed by a healthy breakfast, and then I'll get to work. I'll normally repeat the same activities throughout the afternoon. I don't have much of a set routinue, but fill my days doing simialr things.
Sri Lanka sure is magical, what is your favourite thing about living on the island?
Having the freedom to surf all the time, being able to eat fresh fruit off of the trees and the beautiful, uncrowded surf spots.
Words to live by?
It may sounds cheesy, but never stop dreaming. The moment you let society tell you how to live your life, is the moment you stop living.
What topics do you feel most strongly about?
Animal rights. I’m a huge animal activist and believe strongly in trying to prevent exploitation of animals. I’ve also been on a mission to help end the captivity of orcas, which has been very successful recently with Sea World stopping the breeding of orcas in captivity.
Favourite documentary?
My favourite documentary has to be “The Cove”, as it influenced my life and pretty much shaped me into the person I am today.

Who is your favourite artist? What album do you go to the most?
I actually don’t have a favourite artist, nor do I have a favourite album. I find a song I like and put it on repeat until I can’t stand the song anymore, then I move to another, so it’s hard to like a whole album.
Do you have a favourite dress from the collection?
I really adore the Scriptures Dress. Many people comment on the dresses whenever I wear them. It’s amazing!
What does being part of the Sailaway Crew mean to you?
Expression of style through clothing and creativity.
Where’s the best destination you’ve travelled to so far and why?
That is a really tough question! There’s positives and negatives in every place you travel to, and each are beautiful in their own way.

Travelling has become a big priority in our lives now. Why do you choose to travel?
I think it builds you as a person and opens you up to different ways of living. The best part is being constantly taken outside of your comfort zone. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I did not travel.
Where is next on your wanderlust wish list?
I have an obsession with going to Madagascar, but will probably head to Europe and Central America beforehand.
