Lockdown Inspiration: Lucy Cole

Lucy is a real force of nature. With cheekbones resembling those of Michelle Pfeiffer and the sought after smoulder of Cara De Levigne she’s an absolute beauty. She’s a chameleon in the modelling world, turning her hand to a diverse range of shoots - whether she’s gracing the pages of a bridal magazine, working the likes of high fashion studio shoots or rocking a one piece on the beach. Though we’ve been loving chatting to all these incredible women about their day to day adjustments, hobbies, projects and work Lucy brings a very important message to the table. That it’s very much okay, and in fact, very much encouraged, to spend this time resting. Life is bizarre and uncertain at the moment, it doesn’t need the added guilt of feeling as though you should be achieving goals and ticking off projects like they’re items on a shopping list. Here’s what Lucy has to say about it all…

Hey guys I’m Luc, I hope everyone is managing to stay safe and (somewhat) sane in these unprecedented times!! Covid 19 has certainly had an impact on everybody’s future plans, we were actually meant to be flying out to the Philippines on the day we went into lockdown so we’ve had a bit of adjusting to do. It's so important to stay positive and keep our minds busy as best we can, though. Admittedly I haven't been getting stuck in to any new skills. I've been taking full advantage of some well overdue downtime. It’s so easy to feel pressure from social media to get busy and do cool crazy things but it's also important to give your body that well-deserved chill time, that our ‘regular’ lives often forgo.

Reading on the balcony in the sun has become my new favourite thing plus long drawing sessions to pass the time is also super therapeutic. I’ve been desperately trying to beat Jack, my boyfriend, at checkers although he knows all the tactics that I don't. I’m just trying to find lots of ways to relax and let my mind switch off. Though I've really been enjoying this much needed R&R I definitely feel ready to start getting creative again! I want to make some plans for future work and projects I’d like to get involved in.

There’s definitely a silver lining amongst all this chaos too. Our planet is already benefitting from the lockdown, it’s finally getting a much needed break and this period has proven to us just how much impact we can have by changing a few small things. I hope we all come out of this a little more conscious of our consumption.
