Rock Oyster Festival Round Up

Year after year, Rock Oyster Festival in North cornwall continues to be one of our favourite weekends on the summer calendar. An event which started from humble beginnings, Rock Oyster Festival now has a strong following among its local fans, where folks come to unwind, taste some of the finest Cornish food on offer, and take to one (or all) of the dance floors. This year Rock Oyster Festival welcomed rising talent Land Of The Giants, Electric Swing Circus, Backbeat Soundsystem, Echo Town, Lily Lyons to name but a few, who went down a treat across the various stages.

(Top left) We have as much fun popping up shop and decorating the Sailaway stall as we do dancing our socks off. This year we were extremely grateful for all you lovely ladies (and gents) who stopped by for a chat and to check out our new designs. It was great to be able to share with you in person what we've been working on for this summer season. (Second left) Rock Oyster Festival boasts many great food vendors, from wood fired pizzas to St Moritz Hotel moules frites to fresh samphire topped oysters (of course!) The nettle falafel burger from The Wild Food Kitchen is a must try. (Top right)

Luckily for the Sailaway Crew there was Clio from Van du Vin nearby, a wine connoisseur who has travelled through Argentina to learn about the wine industry, picking up Spanish on her way. On her return, Clio worked at a vineyard in Cornwall whilst setting up Van du Vin that now tours festivals and fuels the party at private events all over the country. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the weekend rocking out with her on the Rock Oyster Festival dance floors. (Clio's wearing the Jemima Black and Gold Leaf playsuit) A huge thank you to our neighbours Harding & Scoots Coffee who kept us going throughout the entire festival 'til the early hours, with their lifesaving organic coffee and moreish crepes. You can catch them down on the beach in their Land Rover coffee shop at Polzeath.

(Above second from left) The beautiful bad ass Nina Westwood rocking our Scriptures Day Dress in charcoal. Rails and rails of new Sailaway goodies, straight from our tailors in India. A big thank you to our other neighbours for the weekend, the glorious Billy & Vicky (bottom left) at Disco Beads, who make the most mesmerising jewellery perfect for any festival outfit (and have been seen on Kate Moss and Jo Whiley!).

(Above left) Crowds enjoying the sunset over the Rock Estuary at Rock Oyster Festival. Sailaway babe Clare James relaxing in one of our jumpsuits, complete with a Melonmade feather headband. (Above right) A lazy Sunday in the sunshine, listening to some soulful tunes. What makes Rock Oyster Festival so special is the warm, welcoming atmosphere which encompasses the entire event. Whether you're a young family looking to entertain the little ones, or a group of girlfriends in need of a relaxing weekend together, Rock Oyster festival certainly delivers.
